Following the declaration of a climate emergency in 2021 the parish council pledged to increase the number of trees in WIlsden as the first stage of its 9 point action plan.
To this end the parish council, working with The Woodland Trust / YORgreen, will be planting trees in the Aire Valley Riding Club’s field alongside Haworth Road ( B6144 ) on Friday 14th January 2022. The team will start by erecting a stock proof fence and then commence the planting of some 100 + trees. The project will take most of Friday and may extend into Saturday.
Friends of Wilsden and Harecroft are welcome to come along to watch and may be able to help with the planting.
