MAIN STREET, WILSDEN – PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES
This letter is to inform you that work on the above scheme is programmed to commence on 22nd February 2016. The section of Main Street between Crooke Lane and Moss Row will be affected by the proposed measures.
The measures to be introduced at this time comprises of the introduction of eight sets of “speed cushions” and two “speed tables” within the length of highway indicated above. Other measures are proposed, but these will be undertaken a later date.
The works should be completed before 7th March but this is dependant on the prevailing weather conditions. This period may be a little longer or shorter should manpower and other resources be available.
To enable the work to be carried out in a safe manner, and to comply with Health and Safety Regulations it will be necessary to undertake the proposals under traffic management control. This will involve the use of “stop and go” boards or possibly traffic signal control. Pedestrian access to property / businesses will be maintained at all times. However, it may be necessary to prohibit parking in the immediate vicinity of particular areas of works in order to maintain the flow of vehicular traffic.
Please take great care when passing these works for your safety and that of our operatives. It may be essential to extend the working shift if we encounter difficulties during the permitted hours. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Please respect our workers space and safety by driving carefully and slowly through the road works.. Feedback from our workers shows that too many drivers travel far too fast through road works. Everyone is entitled to a safe workplace.
Every effort will be made to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum and Traffic and Highways (North) apologise for any inconvenience caused to you.

Once the works on Main Street are complete, the proposed works on Crack Lane and Lingfield will commence (with the residents of the latter two roads being informed accordingly at the appropriate time).
