The Parish Council has a vacancy for a new parish councillor residing in either Wilsden or Harecroft to represent the Wilsden Ward and is seeking interested candidates now.

Some of the things the Council is involved in:
• Commenting on planning applications
• Provides Christmas lights and lit trees for local business
• Harecroft: Speed Reduction Project 2020-2022; lamppost Christmas lights; new Welcome stone coming soon
• Green Spaces Committee: horticultural services for the park and recreational field and verges; floral displays, wildflower project at the Closed Churchyard; employs an Environmental Warden
• Organising/coordinating the Annual Service of Remembrance
• Recent refurbishment of the Play Area
• Led the work on re-opening Post Office as a community run venture
• Developing a Neighbourhood Plan
• Declared a Climate Change Emergency: recently worked with other Bingley Rural Councils on the Green Travel Project
• Supports the Village Hall to ensure it stays open for all residents
• Supports provision of Youth Services in Wilsden
• Producing and distributing a bi-annual newsletter and an annual report
• Seeking grants to support costs
• Complying with all relevant legislation
• Liaising with other Local Councils, both neighbouring and in the wider area
New Councillors will receive training to help them find their feet and both your fellow Councillors and the staff will support you.
