Road Works on Wilsden Main Street

ROAD WORKS ON WILSDEN MAIN STREET

The parish council has been advised by residents about proposed re-surfacing of Main Street between Lee Close and Spring Park Road.

The works are due to take place over the next five Sundays from Sunday 3rd May from 7:00am to 19:00pm.

The parish council has established the following:

  1. The works will take place over five Sundays. Sunday was chosen for the work as Bradford Council felt it would cause the least inconvenience. Bradford Council is not able to give a timetable for which section of road is to be tarmacked on any given Sunday.
  2. Arrangements are being made with the bus company for access/alterations to routes and the arrangements will be posted at the bus stops by the end of this week.
  3. Emergency vehicles will have access. Due to the narrowness of the road it is not possible to do one section of the road, leaving the other side open to moving traffic.
  4. The B6144 won’t be closed at the same time as Main Street.
  5. Residents who live in the affected areas will have access to their homes but will need to wait for contractor traffic. Residents will not be able to drive on freshly tarmacked roads for up to two hours to allow the tarmac to set.
  6. The road surfacing is not connected to the traffic calming but is part of a major maintenance programme.
  7. Bradford Council is not able to offer suggestions for parking but residents who are disabled or infirm and have an issue with parking should get in touch with Mr Wong or Mr Agdobo at Bradford Council on 01274 431000.
